Former Douglas County Sheriff deputy arrested over alleged AI-made nude images of coworkers and minors

Nebraska State Patrol arrested a former Douglas County Sheriff's deputy after an investigation into allegations that he used AI to generate nude images of his coworkers and of minors in the sheriff's office Explorer program. The case followed a cyber tip to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that identified images of potential child sexual abuse material on his iCloud account. The former deputy, who had served as a school resource officer, was fired on May 5 and his law enforcement licence was revoked.
