Singapore's IMDA audit flagged 65 objectionable apps, including AI nudification tools, which app stores then removed
Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) audited the Apple, Google, Huawei, Samsung and Microsoft app stores between April and December 2025 and flagged 65 objectionable apps, including AI nudification tools that digitally remove clothing from photos to create non-consensual sexually explicit images. The audit also found 24 apps lacking required 18+ age ratings. The 65 apps were removed and the ratings corrected after IMDA notified the stores; IMDA published the findings on Oct 24, 2026, but declined to name the apps.
What the AI did
The flagged nudification apps used AI to digitally remove clothing from photos of people, generating sexually explicit images of them without their consent. It has not been reported which apps or AI tools were involved.
